The following waste types are prohibited for disposal at the San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#dff6ed\"><tbody><tr><td>Electronic Wastes<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Paint: such as latex, oil-based, spray paint, stain, craft and hobby paint<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Vehicle Batteries, brake fluid, gasoline, diesel fuel and antifreeze.  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Mercury content items such as fluorescent and ballast light bulbs.  Thermostats and thermometers are not accepted.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Lawn and Garden products such as insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Appliances: Any type of refrigeration equipment which must be property decommissioned with certification and red tagged before disposal (Refrigerators, Freezers, Air Conditioning units)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Toxic, corrosive, reactive and ignitable waste<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Special Wastes<\/strong> such as Asbestos (friable and non-friable), Petroleum Contaminated Soils and Medical Waste must be approved by the Landfill Manager<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Radioactive Waste<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Other: Flammable Liquids, Oxidizers, Pesticides, Radioactive Materials, Controlled Substances, Bio-Hazardous Materials, Explosives<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Materials which produce large quantities of dust when disposed<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) waste<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Cathode ray tubes (CRTs), Central processing units, computer keyboards, VCRs from non-residential sources cannot be accepted at the landfill.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Cannabis Waste: The use of a flammable solvent  in production (soaking) of a marijuana\/hemp concentrate causes the marijuana\/hemp waste to become a ignitable waste that is not currently accepted at the San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority reserves the right to refuse any or all incoming waste.<\/strong><br><strong>WARNING: Transporting any unauthorized Hazardous Waste to this facility for disposal is prohibited by law.
