The following wastes   are unaccepted for disposal at the San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fdf2bc\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Electronics:<\/strong> The State of Colorado prohibits disposing of electronics (TV&#8217;s, Computer peripherals, small appliances, etc.) at the SLV Landfill. <br> <br><strong>The SLV Landfill is currently a trial to be an Electronics Collection Facility.  <\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/slvlandfill.com\/?page_id=3813\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/slvlandfill.com\/?page_id=3813\">For more information and fees click here<\/a><br><br><s>Electronics need to be taken to a electronics recycle-er.  Click here to view the official  <a href=\"http:\/\/slvlandfill.com\/?page_id=94\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"94\">Electronics Recycling<\/a>  unaccepted electronic list.   Electronics  will be returned to the customer for proper disposal.<\/s><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Metals<\/strong>:  The State Of Colorado prohibits disposing of all  metal such as (bbq-grill, appliances, bikes, bed frames, etc.)  at the SLV Landfill working face.  Metal bins are provided on-site for metal disposal.  Metals can also be taken to a scrap metal recycle-er for disposal.  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Hazardous Wastes: <\/strong> View the unacceptable <a href=\"http:\/\/slvlandfill.com\/?page_id=3472\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3472\">Hazardous Wastes<\/a>  list.  Common hazardous wastes: Paint, Motor Oil, Batteries, Appliances w\/Freon, Lawn &amp; Garden Chemicals, Fluorescent light bulbs, , etc., <\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Tires: <\/strong> Tires are not allowed to be disposed of in the SLV Landfill working face. Tires should be unloaded in our Waste Tire area.  Tires are charged an additional fee. <\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Hot ashes<\/strong> and burn barrels should be &#8220;out&#8221; for at least  fourteen days.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Special Wastes<\/strong> such as Asbestos (friable and non-friable), Petroleum contaminated soils and Medical Waste must be approved by the Landfill Manager<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Out-of-county waste<\/strong> must be approved by the Landfill Manager<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Cannabis Waste<\/strong>: The use of a flammable solvent  in production (soaking) of a marijuana\/hemp concentrate causes the marijuana\/hemp waste to become a ignitable waste that is not currently accepted at the San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority reserves the right to refuse any or all incoming waste.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>View the list of items the SLV Landfill accepts for recycling <a href=\"http:\/\/slvlandfill.com\/?page_id=126\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"126\">Recycling<\/a> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority is a Solid Waste only facility and operates under a permit issued from the State of Colorado.
