The San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority is a Solid Waste only facility and operates under a permit issued from the State of Colorado. The following wastes are prohibited for disposal at the San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority.

Metals Items need to be diverted to one of our scrap metal bins and not disposed of in the landfill: Washer, Dryers, BBQ’s, Swing Sets, Bikes, Lawn mowers (oil/gas drained), need to be diverted to one of our metal bins. |
Other: Flammable Liquids, Oxidizers, Pesticides, Radioactive Materials, Controlled Substances, Bio-Hazardous Materials, Explosives |
Cannabis Waste: The use of a flammable solvent in production (soaking) of a marijuana/hemp concentrate causes the marijuana/hemp waste to become a ignitable waste that is not currently accepted at the San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority |
The San Luis Valley Regional Solid Waste Authority reserves the right to refuse any or all incoming waste.
